Handy Bread Hint

Living remote, I do not have ready access to fresh bread rolls so I must either buy them in bulk when I go to town, or bake my own.  Either way, living alone means I do not need a lot of bread sitting round going stale.  So I freeze it.

If you have frozen buns, you can have fresh-baked bread every time you want it:

Preheat your oven to 160C fan bake.

Take out as many frozen buns, ciabatta, baguettes or small loaves as you need and run them under the cold tap before baking on a baking paper sheet for about 15 minutes.

You will have crusty fresh warm bread as if it had just been freshly baked.

This trick will work to freshen up stale bread too.

About Uisce úr

Though I am old with wandering Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done, The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.
